    Ironic: Pyrrhic AND Victory (side-by-side).

FACEBOOK (March 15, 2016): NEW ART NAMED. HA. I was listening to Joe Satriani's "Saturated: Live in Montreal". There's a part where he intro's a song and discusses WHERE the name of the song ("Pyrrhic Victoria") came from... a king of antiquity lost so MUCH by winning the battle.... that he could not afford to win again. He lost... almost...everything. All of his friends. His army. ALMOST EVERYTHING. But... he won. This is a concept that just resonated. Struck a chord. Echoed. At the same time, I found my eyes wondering across the copy of my NEW drawing (that I am FINALLY back INTO).... and the resonation became a... reverberation. I KNOW the name of my new artwork, it is "#123 Pyrrhic Victory Blvd.".... it just all... fits... just right. You just KNOW when it's ....right.... and this is.

ARTIST NOTES (Oct. 17, 2016): Google, “Victoria Pyrrhica” for the ...really old story. NEXT

Trying to follow a new North Star.

FACEBOOK (March 30, 2016): IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ART. My life has been bent towards a certain way of thinking. This ...thing... has always pushed my ass towards the commercial graphic arts. Me thinks mine arse is trying like heck, to follow a new north star. NEXT

What are YOU SEEing? What is REAL?

FACEBOOK (May 10, 2016): THE ENTIRE WEEKEND: DRAWING. This entire weekend was arranged for DRAWING. Food was frozen and QUICK, pencil time LONG and drawn out (pun intended). ha. ha. ha. I have been drawing this face for SUCH A LONG TIME (it seems). Now I am starting part II, the eyes. One of the things that I found particularly fascinating while putting together the collage.... was the fact that by taking ONE face and cutting it up and moving it around... you could get so many different faces out of the same features..... How many faces are hidden within the one face you are focused on in THAT moment? A mask can be contained with the very same features in the very same expression... just moved a micro to the left and you SEE.... What are YOU SEEing? What is REAL? ....really. What? And we are JUST starting to get into VR. That's just a completely brand new layer to the same old... thang.

    Begone real world.

FACEBOOK (May 19, 2016): A BIG LEAP: UPCOMING! Ok. I am posting the artwork as it is NOW. In...a week or two (when next I do posteth)... there will be a HUGE friggin' leap forwards as I have scheduled off DAYS IN A ROW TO DRAW. MANY MANY DAYS. JUST for drawing (drawing, barbecuing, drawing, drinking wine, drawing, watching art documentaries, drawing, playing video games, etc.). Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha..... whoopee. Fun for me. Oh yeah. AND another thing to add to the "fun for me" list... listening to Gary do the same damn thing: make art. I can hear the guitar inside my studio...and he too is going to be making art. We will be stretching artistic wings to fly deep. Begone real world... at least for a while. It's time for ART. It's ...possible.... that I might actually get DONE with the eyeballs and get to DRAW SOMETHING ELSE... in that time. I don't know. We'll see. Anyway. Have fun. Etc. C'ya in ten days or so. NEXT
