TITLE: "The immortality clause" © Chris Eisenbraun 1987.

ARTIST NOTES:
Aluminum frames are notoriously flimsy. I was warned when I had it framed, but.... Anyway, one of the corners of the frame is slightly dented but otherwise the frame is still in pretty good shape. What can I say? This piece has traveled all around the world with me :) There AND back again <lol>. It's an early work and I'm trying to clear out the shelves for some more serious stuff. Support the arts, buy a painting!

The piece is a parody on Michaelangelo's Sistine Chapel piece. The whole painting is done a la contourism, except for the two hands in the middle (and the moon). His is more painterly, and hers seems to be catching it <g>.

Another symbolism type of detail: the dress she wears is peach colored, skin-toned. Vampires are dead. No real need for reproductive organs (a quality of the living), etc. It's all a facade, window dressing. But they raise interesting questions, one in particular: what price would YOU pay for immortality?
