This is definitely one of the stranger, and more striking, mermaid images to be found in the online surrealism art galleries. This pen-and-ink drawing is unique in that the fish tail (traditional in most mermaid images) is replaced by an octopus. Mermaids makes great symbols (discussed elsewhere on the website), and I'm sure there will plenty of mermaid art (pen-and-ink drawings, pencil sketches, oil and acrylic paintings, etc.) and mermaid images coming along in the future. <btw> This artwork is owned by Richard Oster (NY) and is not for sale.
